Tabis Art Chicago Tabata L. Cortes is a Mexican American self-taught mixed media artist based in Chicago. Her paintings are influenced by her experience as a queer immigrant growing up in a Mexican household and nature. She works mainly in acrylic paint, either on a canvas and sometimes uses repurposed organic objects found in nature to make sculptures. Most recently, she has attended events curated by The Puerto Rican Cultural Center, Sabrocito Soul, Pachanga Chicago, Flowers for QTs, and Mindful Baking to sell her artwork. Tabata also had art displayed at a Valentines Day event created by Coartlition. You can find Tabata’s art on Instagram @TabisArtChicago and recently Up Scrolled with the same handle.
